Fab Intro hosts Bill Russo and Anthony Lafasso interview author Ferdinand J. Visco MD. Dr. Visco is Chief Emeritus of the Division of Cardiology at Metropolitan Hospital Center in Manhattan and serves on the Board of Directors of the Italian Heritage and Cultural Committee of New York, Inc. He Is the author of the critically acclaimed book, "Growing Up Italian-American." Dr. Visco was formerly Chief of Cardiology at Metropolitan Hospital and at St. John's Queens Hospital in Elmhurst, N.Y. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., grew up in College Point, Queens, went to college at Fairfield University in Connecticut, and graduated from the University of Padua School of Medicine in Italy. Currently, Dr. Visco lives in New York City, and his passion is the study and preservation of Italian-American history, tradition, and culture. This 1st broadcast of a multi-part series on the life experiences of Dr. Visco as he grew up in the New York metropolitan area from an immigrant family who members where destined to service the community.
